The Six Pack Abs Secret Weapon
THERE’S NO ONE FOOD that’s indispensable to chasing six pack abs, but there is a secret weapon: gum. That’s right, minty chewing gum. I’ve been able to substitute chewing gum for a snack on numerous occasions over the last few weeks. In fact, I’m going through a pack a day.
Right now, as I write this post, it’s 9:30 on a Thursday night, and I’m out of gum. And I’d like a snack. But I’m holding off.
(I wish I had some gum.)
Intuitively, it seems that if you can keep your mouth busy chewing gum, you might be able to distract yourself from snacking. Works for me. It’s not a 100 percent deal, but it helps.
Plus, there’s evidence. Scientists who study this sort of thing have found that chewing minty gum can help suppress appetite. They even used sweet, available snacks and a control group to figure it out.
